Connecting Data to Lampi AI
Connect Google Drive or SharePoint to synchronize selected company files into Lampi AI, then search across that trusted knowledge in Chat and AI Grid Agents.
Connected data lets Lampi AI access the company documents your team already uses every day. Instead of uploading files one by one, you can connect a drive, choose the folders or documents to sync, and make that content searchable inside Lampi AI.
When selected files are added, updated, or removed in the original source, Lampi AI can refresh the indexed knowledge during synchronization so users work from current company material.
What connected data means
A connected data source is a synchronized document repository. Lampi AI indexes the selected content so users can search it, reference it in answers, and use it as context for assistants and agents.
Use connected data when you want Lampi AI to work across company files such as documents, presentations, spreadsheets, PDFs, and other knowledge stored in your drive.
Supported synced data sources
This section covers the data sources that sync company files into Lampi AI:
For live tools, actions, databases, external providers, or Google app tools such as Google Calendar (Agenda), Gmail, and Google Drive actions, see Tools & MCP Library.
Access control and data selection
Access follows the permissions from the original source. If a user only has access to specific folders or files in Google Drive or SharePoint, Lampi AI will only expose the content that user is allowed to access.
You also control what gets synchronized. A workspace can connect only the relevant part of a drive, including specific folders or documents, so Lampi AI indexes the information that should be available for search and context.
At any time, authorized users can:
- Add or remove synced folders and documents
- Connect or disconnect a data source
- Delete indexed data linked to a connected source
- Choose which connected data AI agents can access
Connections vs. MCP tools
Use Connections when the goal is to synchronize company documents into Lampi AI so they become searchable knowledge.
Use MCP tools when the goal is to call a live tool, perform an action, query a database, or work with an external provider. For example, MCP tools can support Google Calendar (Agenda), Gmail, live Google Drive operations, business databases, financial data providers, and custom company tools.
If you want to connect a hosted MCP app or add your own remote MCP server, see MCP Connectors.
For the full list of available tools and how to choose them, see Tools & MCP Library.
How to connect company data
To connect a drive, open App Integrations or Connectors in Lampi AI, choose the source, authorize access, and select the folders or documents to synchronize.
After the first synchronization, the selected content becomes available for search and context according to your workspace permissions. Large drives can take longer to index during the initial sync.
